last month i had a post called, potluck post. in it i blogged about some random things. the first random thing was about was an article i had read that morning and how it jogged my memory of other similar articles i had read... the article was about rape/prostitution and it made me sick to my stomach...
well, the sickness returns. today i read another article, and watched a news video that went along with the article, that made me sick to my stomach. it was about a guy who was beaten into a coma by the police. he later died of the injuries sustained from the beating. i really felt sick...
you can read the article and watch the news video on cnn.com - follow this link:

apparently, this guy was already in custody by the police. so, what exactly made it necessary for them to keep beating this him? why didn't the police stop beating this man at a certain point? why?! this guy begged and pleaded for them to stop while they beat him! have they no control?
i understand that a good beating is necessary every now and then - no no no - i take that back. perhaps "beating" isn't the right word or phrase, so let me put it this way; i believe in corporal punishment. so, if cuffs aren't good enough to restrain a man, especially if he is rowdy or resistant, then go ahead and give him a quick whop; to the head, the gut, the ribs... i don't know... just make sure to administer it quickly and effectively. and make sure you don't kill the guy for goodness' sake!
beating someone in to a coma is not necessary - it's disturbing.
